After kicking off yet another fantastic IPL season, BCCI is prepared to turn its attention to the World Test Championship after a close defeat to the Kiwis in the Finale of the previous season.

In order to “double down on workload,” the Indian Cricket management has been instructed to work on the bowlers.

Surprisingly, the management has advised the bowlers to step up their World Test Championship preprations. The Indian spinners, despite competing in the IPL, have reportedly been told to spend more time in the nets and may be observed using red balls.

Bowlers have been given a weekly target of 200 deliveries and the same has to be reported to BCCI. (Cricbuzz)

“It is important that the bowlers have enough workload under their belt before the WTC final, 200 or 175… they must go to the WTC well prepared,” said Bharat Arun, a former India bowling coach, who was part of India team when it last participated in a WTC final a couple of years ago.
