The Zimbabwe men’s team has announced a full-strength squad for their three-match ODI series against the Netherlands. Sikandar Raza, Zimbabwe’s veteran and talisman, has returned from franchise commitments, as has leg-spinner Ryan Burl.

In addition, Sean Williams, Tendai Chatara, and Blessing Muzarabani have returned to transform Zimbabwe into a formidable powerhouse for the three-match One-Day International series. The three players missed the home Test series against West Indies in February due to injuries: Muzurabani’s recurring quadriceps injury from the T20 World Cup, Williams’ fractured finger, and Chatara’s thigh muscle injury.

“It’s great to have the whole team back and everyone fighting fit,” head coach Dave Houghton said, as the five players, vital cogs in the men’s team, return to the team. “It’s naturally our intention to win the series – however, in doing so, it is also an opportunity to try out different combinations to achieve that goal, with an eye on the upcoming World Cup qualifier tournament.”

From June 18 to July 9, Zimbabwe will host the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Qualifier 2023 to determine the final two teams for the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 in India.

The one-day internationals (ODIs) are scheduled for March 21, 23, and 25 at Harare Sports Club as part of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Super League for direct qualification to the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023. The top eight teams in the 13-team league, including India as hosts, will earn direct qualification. However, because they are not eligible for direct qualification, Zimbabwe and the Netherlands will compete to earn their qualification.
