American President Donald Trump’s firm hand on banning ByteDance owned TikTok. This has led possibilities of new tech war between China and America. However, many countries like India ,UK had earlier banned many Chinese apps. Even Japan too is thinking to go on the same line.
American policy of restricting Chinese companies within the country, just like what has China been doing for all these years have led to escalating tensions between the two countries.
There has been a huge concern over data leaking by Chinese companies to the Chinese government, among many democratic countries.
These countries have earlier alleged Chinese companies as threat to their national security, sovereignty and most importantly privacy of their citizens on sharing of data by third party or deliberate extraction of data by many sophisticated methods.
This is dividing the industry between the two groups. Which is likely to severely damage the relations with other countries sin the world on this basis. The firm boundaries between the two groups and continuous tussle over many tech industries will prompt war like conditions.
This increasing ‘tech-nationalism’ sentiment has also divided people on this line. While some denounces the perfidy of values like liberalism, capitalism etc., Others have put their nationalistic interests first over these values.
