Thiruvananthapuram: On Friday, a major emergency was declared at the international airport after a flight from Calicut to Dammam was diverted there due to a possible hydraulic issue.
According to airport sources, the flight arrived at the airport at 12:15 PM. According to the sources, during takeoff from the Calicut international Airport in the morning, the tail section of the Air-India Express IX 385, which was carrying 182 passengers, collided with the runway.
After spilling gasoline over the Arabian Sea to enable a safe landing, the aircraft touched down at the airport, according to the sources who spoke to PTI.
