After a challenging Ranji Trophy tournament, Saurashtra has emerged as the top team after defeating Bengal to claim the 2022–23 championship.
Bengal, led by Manoj Tiwary, will be disappointed after making it to the championship game only to lose it with a disgraceful batting display.
Bengal managed to score only 174 runs in their first innings with Abhishek Porel standing out alone with a half-century, along with experience batsman Shahbaz Ahmed ‘s 69 off 112 balls.
Saurashtra hinted their dominance after managing to score over 400 runs which gave the team an upper hand. Thanks to the middle order batsmen – Jackson, Vasavada, and Chirag Jani.
Bengal once again failed in the second innings and captain Manoj’s Tiwary’s 68 runs were not capable enough to turn the fate.
Ultimately Saurashtra scored 14 runs (Target – 12 runs) with the loss of 1 wicket to cheer out loud for another major tournament victory.
