An Adani Wilmar spokesperson issued a public notice calling the media’s allegation of the Himachal Tax Department raiding its warehouse for non-payment of GST for five years baseless. He informed that the State Excise and Tax Department made a regular inspection of their depot warehouse in Parwanoo, Himachal Pradesh.
The notice claimed that the staff had cooperated with the authorities throughout the routine inspection and the authorities did not find any discrepancies in the operations and management of the company. Clarifying their stance on the issue of non-payment of GST, they stated that the company is not liable to pay GST in cash under GST Law under Rule 86B.
Further, the notice read out how the company is committed to honest and responsible business dealing with all their company management and operations adhering to the set rules and regulations.
As per the notice, the inspected depot warehouse is completely functioning after the inspection.
