Manu Kumar Jain announced his departure from the Xiaomi group on January 30th, after being connected with it for almost nine years. Jain announced on social media that he will be “taking some time off” before moving on to the next professional challenge.

“These last nine years were truly phenomenal and I will forever cherish the love and support I have received from fans, partners, team members and friends. I am lucky to have experienced something so special that it makes saying this goodbye very hard,” Jain said.

Jain had held a variety of positions since joining Xiaomi in 2014. From 2014 until 2017, he was the smartphone brand’s India area managing director, and he was later named the company’s president for the Indian subcontinent region.

Jain has been Xiaomi’s worldwide vice president since June of last year.

“Last 9 years, I’m lucky to have received so much love that it makes this goodbye so difficult. Thank you all. The end of a journey also marks the beginning of a new one, full of exciting opportunities. (sic),” Jain tweeted, as he shared a statement on his exit on social media.
