The minimum temperature in Churu was -0.5 degrees Celsius on Tuesday, marking it the city’s coldest day this winter.

The maximum daytime temperature in Churu on Monday was 18.8 degrees Celsius, according to the Meteorological Department.

Churu, or the Land of Kings, was buried with snow as the temperature dropped below zero. To keep the cold weather at bay, residents were seen huddling around bonfires.

Nature’s whims have given this charming Rajasthan city its unique individuality. While temperatures in Churu might reach 50 degrees Celsius during the summer, the mercury drops below zero as winter sets in.

The Met Department cautioned that the temperature would drop further in the next days.
