Pushpa Kamal Dahal, often known as Prachanda, was named as the new prime minister of Nepal on Sunday by President Bidya Devi Bhandari.
The leader of the Communist Party of Nepal is Pushpa Kamal Dahal, also referred to as “Prachanda” (Maoist Centre). After a meeting of the ruling coalition earlier in the day to discuss the formation of the government, he had a meeting with the party’s president, former Nepalese prime minister KP Sharma Oli.
Prachanda has held the position of prime minister of Nepal for three terms, first in 2008-09 and then in 2016-2017. More than half of the newly elected members of the House of Representatives of Parliament apparently favour him.
