Kane Williamson, the captain of the New Zealand national cricket team, made his IPL debut in 2015 when he signed with Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). In the absence of David Warner, he captained the team in the 2018 edition, leading them to the first runner-up spot. With 735 runs, he was also the season’s leading scorer. He was retained as the franchise’s captain for the 2022 edition, but he underperformed and was released following their eighth-place finish in the tournament.
