Elon Musk launched a new feature on Twitter on Thursday that is primarily intended for investors, traders, financial gurus, and organisations. Users will be able to view charts and graphs of key equities, exchange-traded funds (ETFs), and cryptocurrencies within a tweet, thanks to Musk’s leadership.

Here’s how the financial feature on Twitter will work:

This new function has been explained on the site itself via the Twitter Business handle. So, if you tweet a significant stock ticker with a “$” symbol in front of it, that stock will become clickable. It will also send the user to the search results for that stock, where the pricing graph and other statistics about that stock will be displayed.

“When you Tweet the symbol of a major stock, ETF, or cryptocurrency with a $ in front of it (like $BTC), people on Twitter see a clickable link that takes them to search results. Starting today, these search results will include the pricing graphs for major symbols,” it wrote.

Twitter Business added, “You can also search for symbols directly, without clicking on a link within a Tweet. Most symbols with and without the $ sign will work in search (QQQ or $QQQ)”.

Elon Musk applauded the Twitter team on the addition of this financial tool. The billionaire wrote, “One of many product improvements coming to financial Twitter! Nice work by the Twitter team”.

Since taking over Twitter on October 27, Musk has implemented a series of changes, including the “$8 subscription service” known as Twitter Blue.

Musk revived a Twitter subscription service last week after an embarrassing slew of bogus accounts spooked advertisers and raised doubt on the site’s long-term viability.

The subscription service costs $8 a month for customers who visit Twitter via the web and $11 for those who join up via an Apple device.

Furthermore, Twitter has begun to roll out a grey tick verification symbol for government-related accounts and a golden tick mark for businesses, while the remainder of the verified accounts will receive a blue tick mark.

The blue tick symbol on the Government of India’s handle has been changed with a grey tick, as has Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s.
