Argentina’s national football team won their third FIFA World Cup after they defeated defending champions France in the final game on Sunday, 18th December. This was one of the greatest finals of the World Cup ever. This was Lionel Messi’s first-ever world cup trophy and it was special for him.

Lionel Messi was named man of the match in this final against France but he has credit to their goalkeeper named Emiliano Martinez. Emiliano Martinez made some exceptional saves in the game to deny France’s goals.

The goalkeeper also got the Adidas Golden Glove award for his amazing performance in this year’s tournament. The goalkeeper was surely the second-best player for Argentina in the finals of the FIFA World Cup 2022. Emiliano Martinez made a crucial save in the very last minute when a French forward named Kolo Muani had a powered shot. Martinez stretched his left leg to make a block and it was a match-winning save from him. He also made a crucial save in the penalties for Argentina to help them win the cup after 36 years.

Aston Villa’s goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez is now a World Cup-winning goalkeeper.
