The Indian Premier League 2023 Auction will start on December 23rd, 2022. The Auction will take place in Kochi, Kerala, all in one day. Since this is not a large-scale auction, BCCI chose to complete it in a single day. This auction will now feature the players that weren’t signed by any teams or kept by their previous franchises. Because it is a mini-auction, the teams have a much smaller budget than in seasons past. India will host the 2023 IPL (as per reports).
At the Indian Premier League (IPL) mini-auctions on December 23 in Kochi, Kerala, 405 players will be up for bid. The franchises are anticipated to be very interested in a few big names, but as we witnessed earlier, even big names go unsold. Likes of Lara and Suresh Raina have also been under the embarrassment of being unsold despite performing well in their particular roles.
1. Ajinkya Rahane – Rahane was an integral part of the Kolkata Knight Riders franchise for IPL 2022 where he scored 144 runs in 7 matches, at an average of 19.00. KKR has released Rahane ahead of the auctions and the player is likely to face the “unsold” embarrassment. Rahane’s base price is Rs 50 lakh. Rahane previously has been a part of Rajasthan Royals (RR), Deccan Chargers (DC) and Mumbai Indians (MI).

2. Amit Mishra – It has been witnessed that Amit Mishra’s twitter controversies has been in top form unlike his recent IPL journey which is less-than-smooth from 2 years. Amit Mishra might go unnoticed by the teams despite bagging in 166 wickets in 154 IPL games. He was also among the “unsold players” in 2022.

3. Mohammad Nabi – The all-rounder from Afghanistan joined the KKR team in 2022, but he did not play in a single match. Nabi did not play because the team already had all-rounders Sunil Narine, Andre Russell, and Venkatesh Iyer.
Prior to the auctions, the management decided to release him. Nabi once belonged to the Hyderabad franchise. In 2019, he made a notable debut for Hyderabad, playing eight games and taking eight wickets, including a four-wicket haul.
