The first Test match between India and Bangladesh will be played today at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium starting from 9:00 AM (IST). This game against Bangladesh will be KL Rahul’s first as the Indian Test cricket team captain. Due to injury, Rohit Sharma is out of the series and already went to India for his treatment.

There are few new names in the Indian squad for this first Test against Bangladesh. The names are Abhimanyu Easwaran, Saurabh Kumar, Navdeep Saini, and Jaydev Unadkat. However pace bowler Jaydev Unadkat isn’t available for today’s game as he is still in India due to Visa issues.

It will be interesting to see who will open the innings with skipper KL Rahul, whether it will be the new man Abhimanyu Easwaran or Shubman Gill. However, it is still unlikely that a new player will be seen playing the first Test match against Bangladesh as India has recently lost an ODI series against them.

India’s predicted playing XI against Bangladesh (1st Test):

KL Rahul (c), Shubman Gill, Cheteshwar Pujara, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant, Ravichandran Ashwin, Axar Patel, Shardul Thakur, Mohammed Siraj, Umesh Yadav.
