Mehidy Hasan’s continued batting prowess helped Bangladesh win the ODI series 2-0 with a sensational performance with the ball in defence of a total of 271. Hasan finished with his first ODI century. Rohit Sharma’s late cameo, during which he scored an unbeaten 51, was ineffective as Bangladesh maintained their impressive home record. They haven’t suffered an ODI series loss at home since October 2016.

Earlier in the game, team India received a distress when captain Rohit Sharma hurt himself while fielding. Rohit Sharma hurt himself while attempting to take a catch of Mohammad Siraj’s ball while he was at the slips. Rohit Sharma left the field during this time, and a replacement was brought in to take his place.

Suryakumar Yadav appreciated Rohit Sharma’s gesture to contribute in the game despite being injured, and portrayed a perfect captain’s job to take the game to a thrilling encounter.

Rohit, who eventually came in at No. 9, managed to hit four sixes against Ebadot Hossain and Mahmudullah, delaying the inevitable and extending the chase into the final over. In order to defeat the seasoned Mustafizur Rahman, India needed 20 off the final over. When only six was required off the final ball, Rohit extended it, but Mustafizur kept it full enough to keep Rohit from going under.
