After Farmers and Groceries, Jio Mart increases reach to other sectors . “Connecting farmers and groceries. Delivering their fresh produce directly to homes is a key part of our grocery strategy. This will significantly improve farmer income and incentivise higher productivity,” said RIL chairman Mukesh Ambani at the 43rd Annual Meeting.
After scaling its reach to the farmers and grocery shops of the country, Reliance Jio’s venture JioMart is now planning to lay its hands into electronics, fashion, pharmaceutical and healthcare sectors as well.
These hints were also given at the company’s annual meeting when Mukesh Ambani said, “In coming years, we will cover many more cities, serve many more customers across India, and expand to many more categories.”
Ambani also said that JioMart with Facebook-owned WhatsApp will work to create growth opportunities for hundreds of thousands of Indian small merchants and grocery shops.
Ambani claimed that the retail unit has collaborated with farmers, small and medium-scale manufacturers, merchants and startups to fulfill customers’ everyday needs.
Besides, Ambani also shared revenue details and said Reliance Retail’s revenue has grown eight times and the profits have increased by 11 times.
JioMart is a tech-enabled collab that will connect producers, traders, small merchants, consumer brands and consumers. As of now, JioMart is trying to increase its geographical reach and delivery capabilities.
