Pakistan just made the team announcements for both the 7-match T20 series against England as well as the World Cup in Australia. Abrar Ahmed and Aamir Jamal, two players from the domestic circuit, have been called up by the selectors for the latter.

“Meanwhile, for the seven-match T20I series against England, the selectors have named all the players who will travel for the World Cup except Fakhar Zaman and Shaheen Shah Afridi. In their places, the selectors have named Northern’s all-rounder Aamir Jamal and Sindh’s mystery spinner Abrar Ahmed in line with their strategy to reward high-performing cricketers,” said PCB in a statement.

Right-arm leg spinner Abrar Ahmed, 23, made his T20 debut for Karachi Kings in 2017. He made his first-class debut for Sindh in the 2020 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy. Ahmed has taken 18 wickets at an economy rate of 7.62 in 16 domestic T20 games. Additionally, he has appeared in 12 ODIs and claimed 17 wickets at a remarkable economy of 4.55.

The 26-year-old all-rounder Aamir Jamal can hit the ball far. He has a solid track record in the domestic circuit and is a medium-pacer as well.
