Bollywood has been witnessing the season of marriages since a few months. After Katrina-Vicky, Alia-Ranbir now Richa Chadha and Ali Fazal are heading to tie the marriage knot in the first week of October. Although the news of the marriage has been hatched and confirmed one day ago now in addition to it some details regarding the venue have also been introduced to the paparazzi.
One of the places where Richa and Ali’s pre-wedding celebrations will be taking place is an exclusive and one of India’s oldest clubs, the Delhi Gymkhana Club, (110 years old). Established in 1913, the club is one of the country’s most exclusive venues in the National Capital upholding remarkable historical significance. The club is said to have a wait list of almost 37 years for a membership.
The summary of the club reads, “It was then called the “Imperial Delhi Gymkhana Club” and Mr. Spencer Harcourt Butler was its first President. When India gained Independence in 1947, the word “Imperial” was dropped and it was simply known as “Delhi Gymkhana Club” Gymkhana club or the Imperial Delhi Gymkhana club had it humble origins in July 1913. In the initial years, the Polo Club was seen as a part of Gymkhana Club until it was achieved off as a separate entity in the 1930s when the Polo Club moved to New Delhi.”
The actors were first met on the sets of Fukrey and hit it off instantly. They have been in a relationship for a long time now and the couple is ready to take the big decision of their life.
As the wedding is going to be a grandeur one, the pre-wedding ceremony will be beginning from 30th of September in Delhi and the marriage ceremony will take place in a plush Mumbai hotel followed by two grand receptions. Their first wedding reception will take place in Delhi on October 2 and their second reception will be held in Mumbai on October 7, 2022.
Earlier, in an interview with a news website, Richa had confirmed that her wedding with Ali will take place this year. “I think shaadi ho jaegi iss saal. Kar lenge kisi tarah se (We will get married this year, will marry somehow). We’re very excited about getting married but we are just worried about COVID and want to be responsible,” she had said.
Richa Chadha is currently working on Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s upcoming web series Heeramandi which will stream on Netflix. Ali, is currently working on the third season of Amazon Prime Video’s series Mirzapur in Mumbai and Lucknow and will soon wrap up his part of the shoot. He will also be seen in Vishal Bharadwaj’s directorial Khufiya, a spy thriller alongside Tabu. Richa and Ali will be seen together in Fukrey 3 alongside Pulkit Samrat and Varun Sharma. Before starting the wedding preparations the couple will soon wrap up with their on-going projects.
