KRK, an actor and self-described film critic, was detained by Mumbai police last month in relation with a FIR filed against him based on his contentious social media remarks from 2020. Khan is now being held in judicial prison for 14 days after being charged with requesting sexual services from an actress in 2019.
Versova Police detained him for allegedly grasping the complainant’s hand. The FIR was reportedly filed in June of last year in accordance with IPC sections 354(A) and 509.
Shatrughan Sinha, a former Bollywood actor who is now a politician, defended the actor on social media on Monday. After arriving in Mumbai from Dubai, KRK was detained by the Mumbai police in connection with the matter of the contentious tweets. Furthermore the offensive remarks was directed at deceased Bollywood icons Irrfan Khan and Rishi Kapoor.
