The super four round of the 2022 Asia Cup will feature the classical match between Pakistan and India. On September 4 (Sunday), India and Pakistan will square off at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in the United Arab Emirates for the second time in this tournament.
Babar Azam leads Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2022, while Rohit Sharma captains India. India advanced to the super four round by defeating Pakistan and Hong Kong in the group round. Pakistan overcame Hong Kong but lost to India.
It was earlier noted that Ravindra Jadeja was ruled out from the ongoing Asia Cup 2022 owing this unfortunate scenario to his knee injury which has been witnessed as a recurring problem for the all-rounder as he missed the previous series against West Indies due to the same reason (in July). Ravindra Jadeja is also unavailable for ICC T20I World Cup, which makes a place for another player while considering the squad who will fly to Australia.
Indian pacer Avesh Khan is experiencing seasonal changes and is being taken care by the medical staff. Coach Rahul Dravid confirmed that Avesh Khan missed the practice session due to the same reason and hopes him to be fine for today’s (4th September) clash against Pakistan.
Pakistan’s top gunner Shaheen Shah Afridi was previously noted to be absent from the ongoing Asia Cup 2022, due to an injury.
Followed by which, Pakistan seamer Shahnawaz Dahani has been ruled out of the team’s Asia Cup Super-4 match against arch-rivals India with a “suspected side strain”, the Pakistan Cricket Board announced on Saturday. Hasan Ali was added to the team, and he’ll probably take Dahani’s spot in Pakistan’s starting lineup against India on Sunday at the Dubai International Stadium.
