Indian skipper Rohit Sharma successfully completes 3500 runs in the T20I format and becomes the first ever batsman to do so. In the first over of the Asia Cup 2022 match on Wednesday, August 31, Rohit Sharma scored a single against Hong Kong to clinch his 3,500th run in T20Is.
Earlier, India captain Rohit Sharma passed Martin Guptill of New Zealand to take the lead in T20I run scoring. When Sharma scored 12 runs off of 18 balls on Sunday, August 28, while playing for Pakistan, he accomplished this feat. The Indian skipper and the New Zealand opener have been competing to rule the charts, and they have been undermining each other’s dominance in the rankings.
