The concept of sologamy or autogamy is predefined as a term depicting one’s psychological desire but this would not have brought to limelight in India unless it was truly performed by Kshama Bindu, a 24 years old lady in Gujarat who took her first step towards a ritualistic autogamy marriage followed by sindoor, saat fera even honeymoon. The nation envisaged a revolutionary autogamy marriage on 11th June this year.
Thereafter two months the news of India’s second reported autogamy marriage after Kshama Bindu came across the consensus that is of the television actress Kanishka Soni, who is known for her work in the popular daily soap opera ‘Diya Aur Bati Hum’, has married herself.
She declared her marriage herself in her respective IG handle where she could be seen posting a series of pictures of herself as a newly married woman with mangalsutra and sindoor. It could be assumed as a photo shoot unless she had clarified with a caption below how her self love made her choosing herself as her life partner over anyone else and shares her perspective of an Indian marriage not to be only about having sex but having loyalty and honesty that she can provide herself without any one else.
The long note reads, “Married to myself since I fulfilled all my dreams my own & the only person I am in love with is MYSELF answer to all questions I am getting I don’t need any Man Ever .. I am happy always alone & in solitude with my guitar I am the goddess, Strong & Powerful, Shiva & Shakti everything is inside ME, Thank you.”
Replying to the immense controversies she informs, “I know you guys have been raising lots of questions on my #selfmarriage decision, I truly believe in indian culture & here is my POV that why I chose to live in solitude marriage is not about sex it’s about love and honesty one seeks for & I have lost that faith & believe.”
