Not that it should come as a surprise for someone like Luka Doncic, but the Mavericks player met with tennis star Novak Djokovic following Slovenia’s 97-92 victory against Serbia in overtime on Wednesday.

That interaction came after a string of crucial plays by Doncic, who completed the contest with 34 points, six rebounds, nine assists, and a rebound that sealed the victory. Nikola Jokic, a top player for the Denver Nuggets and a two-time NBA MVP, competed against Doncic and contributed 26 points and 12 rebounds of his own.

Slovenia will compete in two FIBA European World Cup qualification matches, with its first matchup taking place on August 25 versus Estonia. On August 28, there will be a qualifying match versus Germany.

On September 1, Slovenia will begin group play at the FIBA EuroBasket 2022, and the German national team will retire Dirk Nowitizki’s No. 14 jersey. Both events take place on the same day.
