R Madhavan is now riding high on the success of his film Rocketry: The Nambi Effect, which was released in theatres on July 1 and received widespread accolades from both fans and reviewers. Madhavan took over for Nambi Narayanan, who was wrongly accused of espionage and jailed in 1994 for allegedly leaking secret information about India’s space achievements to foreign officials. However, the charges against him were proven unfounded, and Narayanan was exonerated following a lengthy court battle.

Rumours circulated that the actor had lost his home in order to film the biography, but Madhavan put an end to those speculations by responding appropriately to a Twitter user who claimed the same. On Wednesday, a netizen took to his Twitter handle and wrote, “Madhavan lost his house to fund #Rocketry and directed this movie when the original director had opted out due to prior commitments. On another note, his son, Vedaant, is winning medals for the nation in swimming.

Meanwhile, the video was recently shown in India’s Parliament, where leaders such as I&B minister Anurag Thakur, Pralhad Joshi, JP Nadda, and others were present. “It was quite a humbling experience,” Madhavan remarked on Facebook. At the same time, I was proud and terrified. You have to understand that this is not a typical occurrence, and I can’t believe it happened. And, of course, I will be eternally grateful that the film was such a success.
