Former skipper of team Pakistan slams a criticising reply for PCB after being questioned about bringing mentors from abroad.
Pakistan recently announced a new league which shall be played exclusively for junior teams, as the name suggests – Pakistan Junior League.
Earlier, Colin Munro from New Zealand and Imran Tahir of South Africa confirmed their participation as mentors for this league. Shahid Afridi and Shoaib Malik too have been brought-in for the same role. Darren Sammy will also be a part of mentoring role.
Former skipper of team Pakistan, Salman Butt criticised Pakistan Cricket Board with a huge blow at Ramiz Raja and stated that the country has lack of its own mentors as well as the soils for the pitches.
In a video on his official YouTube channel, Butt was questioned about whether Pakistan had enough former cricket players who could serve as mentors. In response, the former batter launched a verbal attack on PCB and Ramiz, claiming that Pakistan lacked its own mentors and lacked “soil” to prepare wickets. Regarding Pakistan’s use of drop-in pitches in the Test series against Australia, the remark was made.
“There are no players who can mentor youngsters in Pakistan. There is no one. We don’t even have soil to put on wickets in Pakistan, and you are talking about mentors. You have to bring drop-in pitches from different country, soil from different country, coaches and mentors from different countries. Bring a chairman from some other country too, no? There’s nothing to talk about on this,” Butt said.
PJL … starting in October… watch out for our Eleven Next inshallah! https://t.co/YvJE5EEPu7
