India was 80 for one at day 2 conclusion, 82 runs ahead of the hosts. Hanuma Vihari was batting at 9, while KS Bharat was unbeaten at 31. Before being removed on 38, Shubman Gill had previously given India a quick start.
Earlier, India knocked out Leicestershire for 244 after taking three wickets each from Ravindra Jadeja and Mohammed Shami. India gained a two-run advantage going into their second innings as a result.
With a superb fifty before being bowled out on 76, Rishabh Pant top-scored for the host team. Pant scored 76 runs off 87 balls while hitting 14 fours and a six. Mohammed Shami removed Cheteshwar Pujara for a duck after he failed to match Pant’s performance for the hosts.
Team India’s lone bright spot on Day 1 was Bharat, since the first day was cut short owing to rain. Despite struggling in the cloudy weather, Indian batsmen managed to pick up 246/8 with KS Bharat scoring an undefeated 70. He and Virat Kohli‘s 57-run partnership helped India recover after Rohit Sharma‘s team fell to 81/5.
