On Monday, Jay Shah, the Secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), announced an increase in the monthly pension of retired players and match officials on his official Twitter page. He further mentioned that 900 individuals will be benefited as a result of this move.

“I’m pleased to announce an increase in the monthly pension of former cricketers (men & women) and match officials. Around 900 personnel will avail of this benefit and close to 75% of personnel will be beneficiaries of a 100% raise,” Jay Shah tweeted.

According to the BCCI, those who previously received Rs. 15000, Rs. 22500, and Rs. 30,000 would now receive Rs. 30000, Rs. 45000, and Rs. 525000. Furthermore, personnel who previously received Rs. 37500 and Rs. 50000 would now receive Rs. 60000 and Rs. 70000, respectively.

On Day 2 of the current e-auction for IPL media rights, Shah made this announcement.

Shah had already announced a Rs 1.25 crore reward fund for groundsmen and curators of all six locations that hosted IPL 2022 last month.
