This season, the just-turned 21-year-old from Poland has outlasted several top players. She had previously won the Italian Open by defeating Ons Jabeur. Aryna, the top seed, was defeated.
Swiatek has been unstoppable so far this season, especially on clay. The athlete has won five WTA 1000 championships in a row and is now competing in another Grand Slam in Paris, France. With her semifinal triumph over Daria Kasatkina, the Polish professional matched Serena Williams’ winning record, and now, with her final victory over Gauff, she has extended her winning run to 35 matches, matching Venus Williams’.
