Tata IPL 2022 has reached its final days now, with only two league matches remaining and only one spot left for the playoffs. The battle is between Delhi Capitals and Royal Challengers Bangalore and the decision lies in the hands of five-time IPL champions Mumbai Indians. Royal Challengers Bangalore have finished their group stage matches. They are at the fourth position in the points table with 16 points at an NRR of -0.253. On the other hand, Delhi Capitals are yet to play their last match and have 14 points in their bag with an NRR of +0.255. The only way for RCB to qualify is if Delhi loses their last game against Mumbai Indians. Net Run rate has played a key role in IPL throughout the years and has again shown its importance this year. If Delhi wins the game, RCB and DC may have the same points. But Delhi would be away ahead of RCB in terms of NRR, leading to their qualification.

The whole RCB squad has come in support of MI. In the last match, in the post-match interview RCB’s captain, Faf du Plessis was seen cheering for MI. Virat Kohli also stated that the full 25 men squad of RCB is rooting for MI. Today, the judgment day. RCB’s wicket-keeper batsman Dinesh Karthik also posted a tweet in support of MI. Karthik posted a picture from his days representing Mumbai Indians and tweeted: “Found this in the archives”. Faf du Plessis and company would be seen rooting for MI today. Also, it would be interesting to see which team faces Lucknow Super Giants in the eliminator.
