Following months of anticipation, the 52-year-old Ajax coach will take over there at Old Trafford from Ralf Rangnick after a poor season for the Red Devils. Ten Hag has accepted a deal through June 2025, with the prospect of an extra year, with Rangnick moving upwards to undertake a consultancy position with the team.

Erik ten Hag has been nominated as Manchester United’s new boss, beginning at the finish of the season. Interim coach Ralf Rangnick highlighted United’s concerns following their unhappy Wembley trip, admitting that up to ten fresh signings should be signed this summer as the team picks up the chunks following their setback to Liverpool on Thursday evening as they start preparing for their voyage to Arsenal this weekend.

“It’s a great honour to be appointed manager of Man Utd, I’m hugely excited. I know the history of this great club and the passion of the fans, and I am determined to develop a team capable of delivering the success they deserve”. Erik said via United’s official website.

Having a handful of high players out of the deal, United anticipates an active summer transfer window as they strive to rebuild the club. Ten Hag would be presented a roster of players for every post until a decision has been taken as to whom to push for, thus according GOAL. He would also have the potential to offer his personal views.

Mikel Arteta’s team delivered the critical strikes in Wednesday’s London derby victory versus Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, drawing them tied on the standings with Tottenham Hotspur. Arsenal trails United by three points before United’s match at the Emirates.
