Three Chinese astronauts who spent nearly 183 days in a space station in orbit for the construction purpose have returned back to earth on Saturday. The astronauts have spent six months, considered to be one of the longest periods for Chinese astronauts in the orbit on a space mission. Zhai Zhigang, Wang Yaping, and Ye Guangfu traveled in Shenzhou-13 which is a manned spaceship that landed at the Dongfeng landing site located in north China’s Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. It took nearly nine hours for the scientists to touch down on earth.
According to the reports by Xinhua, after the arrival, the scientists were checked for being medically and physically fit under which they were tested healthy and in a good physical condition. The reports further suggest that China is planning to complete its space station this year and is also planning to send humans to the moon.
Chinese state media had published pictures of the scientists after landing on Earth. “They have completed multiple tasks over the past few months, including two extravehicular activities, two live science lectures, and a number of sci-tech experiments and application projects,” the report said.
