Chennai Super Kings became the fastest team to reach the first 100 runs in this season of IPL. Robin Uthappa and Moeen Ali’s power-hitting helps CSK reach this milestone. In the powerplay, they scored 73 runs at the cost of just a single wicket, and both the batters (Robin Uthappa and Moeen Ali) were in exceptional touch against Lucknow Super Giants on Thursday, 31st March.
Robin Uthappa also completed his fifty in the game but was then dismissed by the Indian spin bowler Ravi Bishnoi for 50 runs. After him, Moeen Ali helped CSK reach 100 in just the 10th over. At 9.1 overs CSK reached 103 runs which was a milestone for them as it was the fastest.
After helping the team to reach this milestone, he also got out for 35 runs in 22 balls. His (Moeen Ali) short cameo was important for the team to get the momentum right. Moeen Ali was dismissed by Indian pacer Avesh Khan as he gives the important breakthrough. CSK after this amazing start will be looking to get to a huge total and LSG will try hard to stop them from scoring more than 200 runs.
