West Ham’s Kurt Zouma and brother Yoan, have been charged under the RSPCA over a video that has been circulating on social media, as they have been filmed kicking a cat. The Animal Welfare Act 2006 has booked them under the abuse of animals as brother Yoan, 23, filmed Kurt kicking and slapping one of his pets, revealed by The Sun.
Kurt Zouma however continued playing for the club despite being identified in the video. However, the two cats were removed from Kurt’s home and the RSPCA liaised with the Essex police regarding the incident. “Following a full and thorough investigation, we have started the process of bringing a prosecution against Kurt Zouma and Yoan Zouma under the Animal Welfare Act”, added a spokesperson for the RSPCA to BBC Sports while the two cats continue to be cared for by the same organisation.
The Zouma brothers are believed to be prosecuted concerning the charges booked but the respective clubs haven’t responded to the player’s situation regarding their suspension or dismissal.
