Barcelona feminine will play against Real Madrid feminine in the UEFA Women’s Champions League quarter-finals on March 30 at Camp Nou in a first around supporters since the COVID-19 pandemic. The 99,354 capacity stadium is set to break the record for a women’s club match in the world. All tickets are sold out in all sections and it is set to break an attendance of 60,739, a record previously held at the Wana Metropolitano in 2019 when Barcelona Femeni beat Atletico Madrid Femenino.

Joan Laporta, the President of Barcelona told BarcaTV that there are consistent efforts to maintain the utmost commitment towards women’s football, to hold it most naturally and authentically. “This Sunday the team can be champions”, he added, “with a full capacity at the Camp Nou, it will be sold out and it will be a world record. They are excited and thankful and of course, we want to thank them. They deserve it,” said Laporta according to SkySports.

Laura Basset, former arsenal defender shared with SkySports her experience with the Catalunya counterparts. She admitted that all women’s teams aspire to be Barca, “it’s who they are, how they have done it for years, they have a special play” said the English following their 4-0 victory over Arsenal.

The team would not only beat the current record for attendance in a game but also become Spanish champions if they beat Real Madrid this weekend.
