India’s biggest cricket tournament IPL is about to start on 26 March. The first match of Tata IPL 2022 will be played between Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders on 26 March at 7:30 pm. While the IPL will start with Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders on March 26, Punjab Kings first match is against Royal Challengers Bangalore on 27th March. Tata IPL 2022 auction for Punjab has been very good. With the addition of players like Shikhar Dhawan, Kagiso Rabada, Liam Livingstone, Jonny Bairstow, and Rahul Chahar, Punjab’s team looks strong.
Punjab Kings will play their first match of this season against Royal Challengers Bangalore at the DY, Patil Stadium in Mumbai. This time IPL matches will be played in Mumbai and Pune only, out of which 55 matches will be played in Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium, DY Patil Stadium, and Barbourne stadium in Mumbai, and the remaining 15 matches will be played at MCA Stadium Pune.
IPL has not been very special for Punjab since 2008 and the team has reached the final of IPL only once. Punjab has given the captaincy this season to Mayank Agarwal and has prepared his team afresh in this mega auction.
