On his show, ‘The Shop’, LeBron James mentioned what he looks for before games to get himself motivated. For those that don’t know about the show, it is executive produced by Lebron and his business partner and friend, Maverick Carter. The show is a chat show where LeBron and Maverick talk to celebrities, Athletes, and other creative and innovative people in various fields and have a chat.
The two friends also have haircuts in some of the shows while they have conversations with their guests. The most recent episode, which was released on their YouTube channel – UNINTERRUPTED, had NFL player – Lamar Jackson, multi-hyphenate Donald Glover, actor/writer Quinta Brunson, artist J Balvin and marketing executive Paul Rivera.
The conversation discussed various issues these celebrities faced in their respective fields as well as more general topics like what music they like, etc. Lamar Jackson, a young athlete said he was on the show because Lebron was his favourite player and they discussed what it takes to win a championship. A piece of advice that LeBron gave him was to ignore the outside noise and just focus on his game.
LeBron also mentioned how he was never discussed as one of the greatest scorers ever even after he broke the record for most points scored in a career (playoffs and regular season combined). The most interesting nugget though was that LeBron said he always surveyed the crowd around 20 minutes before the game to find a LeBron hater.
Once he found one he would use that guy as fuel to go off in a game. Well, it seems that this season every game Lakers play has a hater because LeBron has been putting up MVP numbers in his 19th season. Unfortunately, even with his great performances, his team cannot manage to get wins. While a lot of it is because his team hasn’t stepped up, the blame goes to the Lakers organization and LeBron as well because of his role in setting up that roster.
