Yeremy Pino scored four goals for Villarreal in a 5-1 victory over Espanyol on Sunday. In the first half of the encounter between Villarreal and Espanyol, few could have foreseen what was going to happen. The problem was that Yeremy Pino had caught fire. In the first half, he was the show’s star.

In the 14th minute, he took advantage of a superb cross from Pervis Estupinan to jump above the towering Leandro Cabrera and head the ball in to score it 1-0. After just six minutes, the gifted winger scored once more. After a corner, the ball was loose in the six-yard box, and Capoue lay it off to Pino with his thigh, who beat Diego Lopez with his first touch with a shot across Diego Lopez.

The Estadio de la Ceramica was buzzing with activity, but there was yet time for more. Pino completed a tremendous first half with another banger. Capoue took a shot, Diego Lopez saved it, and Pino knocked in the rebound for his first professional hat-trick. And the Spaniard wasn’t finished yet. Danjuma delivered a pass into space eight minutes into the second half, and Pino raced through Diego Lopez before tipping in and became the first Villarreal player to score four goals in a La Liga game.

Villarreal recently renewed his contract until 2027 with a release clause of 80 million euros. Yeremy is surely proving why Villareal showed faith in him. Villarreal is 5th on the table with just three points behind 4th place Atletico Madrid.
