In 2017, Kabir Khan and Salman Khan collaborated for the third time after two blockbusters- Ek Tha Tiger and Bajrangi Bhaijaan. Tubelight released on Eid in 2017 but unlike their former collaborations, this one underperformed. In a recent interview, Badhai Ho director Amit Sharma gave a shocking comment on Tubelight. Tubelight is based on the 2015 film, “Little Boy” and the makers changed the backdrop to the India-China war of 1962.
Amit Sharma called out to the makers and called Tubelight an overrated film. He felt he could have helmed and directed the film way better than Kabir Khan. He answered this question after the interviewer asked him which was on overrated film he had seen in the recent past.
He was also asked that if he had to spread a rumour about his leading man, Ayushmann Khurrana, Amit gave an interesting reply. Amit said, “It would be that he is the wittiest, and has a mindblowing sense of humour. He has got a plethora of jokes that are amazing.”
Professionally, Amit Sharma’s next movie is Maidaan starring Ajay Devgn as Syed Abdul Rahim and the leading lady is Priyamani. This movie also marks the return of Amit’s collaboration with Gajraj Rao. This also marks the Hindi film debut of Keerthy Suresh and is based on the revolution of football in India.
