Liverpool thrashed Leeds United in a six-goal thriller, which took them 3 points within league leaders Manchester City.
Sadio Mane and Mo Salah stepped up in a must-win game after Manchester City dropped points to Spurs, at home, over the weekend.
Salah and Mane each scored two goals which saw Mane enter the top 3 goal scorers in the Premier League this season with 11 goals, while Salah comfortably sits at the top with 19 goals to his name.
Although suspended due to injury, Diogo Jota is second with 12 goals. It is no surprise that the top goal scorers are from Liverpool, as The Reds scored a whopping total of 70 goals in just 26 games. They are averaging almost 2.7 goals per game and some of that credit should also go to the assisters.
As usual, their full-backs, Trent Alexander Arnold and Andrew Robertson have been in fine attacking form all season. Trent is the joint top assister this season with 10 assists, while Robertson is just below him with 9 assists.
The other joint top assister happens to be the top scorer in the Premier League this season, Mo Salah. The Egyptian has been in extraordinary form over the past few years, and this year he is still in striking form as he tops both the goals and assists charts.
Under Jurgen Klopp, Liverpool has always been a goalscoring team and they finished every season with a whopping goal difference. Not just the forwards, but all the players deserve praise for this feat.
