It has been six weeks since the January transfer window closed and, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to Barcelona is one of the most talked about transfer.

The day before the transfer took place, he was seen at Barcelona and rumors sparked. But Arsenal crushed all the rumors saying he was there for personal reasons. The following day, news came out that he was going to sign a 3 year contract with the Catalans.

Aubameyang who signed a three year contract with the Spanish giants, told Mundo Deportivo that an offer from them was too big of an opportunity to turn down. Salary was not one of the reasons he joined them.

The start to his career at Barca was in contrast to how his Arsenal career ended. Following a disciplinary breach at the Emirates, he was ripped off the captaincy and was benched for almost two months.

While at Barcelona, after being subbed on for two games, he was given his first start against Valencia on Sunday. He gained the trust of the fans by scoring a fantastic hattrick in his first start itself. He will be looking to add more goal contributions to his tally against Napoli in the UEFA Europa League round of 32.

He further mentions his plans for the season, and says, “I want to win games and I want to win the Europa League, so if we want to win it, we have to win this game.” As per Mundo Deportivo.

His long term plans also include winning the Spanish league and the Champions League.
