Sonu Sood has been embroiled in controversy during the polling day in the Punjab assembly elections on Sunday. While promoting his sister in the Moga district, his car was seized by the police.

Malvika Sood, the actor’s sister, is contesting Punjab Vidhan Sabha elections 2022 as a Congress candidate from Moga. She joined Congress in Punjab’s Moga on 10th January of this year.

Moga District PRO Pradbhdeep Singh gave the media an update on the situation. He said, Sonu Sood was trying to enter a polling booth. During this, his car was confiscated and he was sent home. Action will be taken against him if he steps out of his house.”

In response to the controversy, Sonu Sood denied all allegations and stated that he was merely attempting to ensure fair elections. He told the media, We got to know of threat calls at various booths by opposition, especially the people of Akali Dal. Money being distributed at some booths. So it’s our duty to go check & ensure fair elections. That’s why we had gone out. Now, we’re at home. There should be fair polls.”

Although Sonu’s sister, Malvika, is using politics to explore power dynamics, the actor has stated several times that he will keep away from it.
