With four days left for the IPL mega auction, franchises are all looking forward to building a strong squad with constant performers. Franchises are keen to bid upon the finishers, only a few are there to fit in this category, one of them being Shahrukh Khan.
Shahrukh is one of the finest players who was bought by Punjab in 2021 for Rs 5 cr. He played 11 matches and made 153 runs with a strike rate of 134.21.
This season, Punjab hasn’t retained Sharukh Khan and he will be a part of the auction for a base price of Rs 40 Lakhs. There are three IPL teams who seem to look interested in this young finisher.
1) Chennai Super Kings
After MS Dhoni’s retirement from IPL, it seems that Shahrukh is all set to replace him as a finisher for Chennai. Dhoni’s guidance over the youngster would be great for the Indian team as well. Shahrukh is a hard hitter who would befit the middle order when the team would need him the most. He also belongs from Chennai and it would be great he gets to play for his home team.
2) Rajasthan Royals
Rajasthan has never made a comeback after winning the first season of the IPL. They have never reached a final of any IPL season barring the first season. Sanju Samson, Jos Buttler, and Yashasvi Jaiswal have been retained by Rajasthan. They have a strong top batting order but lack consistent middle order, so they might be keen to fill that department by bidding over Shahrukh Khan.
3) Royal Challengers Banglore
Despite the franchise having had strong players like Chris Gayle, Virat Kohli, and Ab De Villiers who announced retirement from all forms of cricket, it still hasn’t even won a single IPL title yet. The middle order of RCB has always been questionable. After having Virat Kohli and Glenn Maxwell, there is an urgent requirement of a player to fill the gap of ABD in the team. So, it seems that the franchise would be keen to bid over Shahrukh who would help them to hold the team strong.
