India has won the ICC U-19 World Cup 2022 by beating England by four wickets in the finals on Saturday at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, Antigua.

Indian U-19 wicketkeeper, Dinesh Bana’s winning six in the final has refreshed fans’ memories of former Indian captain-wicketkeeper, MS Dhoni’s winning shot in the finals of ICC World Cup 2011 against Sri Lanka at the Wankhade Stadium.

ICC on their official Instagram page posted a collage video of Dhoni’s winning six in 2011 with Dinesh’s winning six yesterday.

The fans who seemed excited with India’s great victory in the U-19 World Cup felt in comparing Dinesh’s shot with Dhoni. Dhoni’s iconic shot in the finals has till date sustained in Indian fans hearts, as under his captaincy, India won the World Cup after 28 years.

It is said that Dinesh was never the first choice wicketkeeper to play in the tournament. A conversation between him and Nishan Sindhu was revealed where Sindhu says that ‘aaj selectors aane waale hai’. Dinesh replied ‘tubas six-count Karna aaj mere’. Dinesh caught the attention of selectors by scoring 170 off 98 deliveries including 10 fours and 14 sixes.

It is the fifth ICC U-19 World Cup win for India led by Yash Dhull. Before this India won in 2000 led by Mohammad Kaif, 2008 led by Virat Kohli, 2012 led by Unmukt Chand, 2018 led by Prithvi Shaw.
