Two workers in Virudhunagar were charred to death and another worker was seriously injured in a fire accident while disposing of the chemical waste at a private fireworks manufacturing unit at Ammankovilpatti village in this district of Tamil Nadu last night. Police sources said the deceased was identified as D.Arumugham (50) and K.Kubendran (38). The injured worker was undergoing treatment at Sivakasi government hospital. Investigations revealed that the three workers were burning the waste chemicals, including wicks inside the Bommi Fireworks factory, when the mishap occurred. Police have registered a case and arrested the factory owner Selvakumar. The Virudhunagar district administration today ordered the cancellation of the license of the factory following the incident.
