Indian U-19 cricketer, Aaradhya Yadav has been chosen by the ICC’s Event Technical Committee to replace injured all-rounder Vasu Vats for the ongoing U-19 World cup on Saturday.

The ICC said in a statement that Vasu Vats is undergoing a hamstring injury and will not be able to take part in any of the further events.

Before the substitute player can be officially added to the Indian squad, it needs to gets approved by the ICC’s Event Technical Committee.

The Event Technical Committee includes Chair Cris Tetley (ICC head of events), Ben Leaver (ICC Senior Event Manager), Fawwaz Baksh (Tournament Director) Roland Holder (CWI Representative) Alan Wilkins, and Russel Arnold (both independent representatives).

India is now all set to clash with Bangladesh in the Super League Quarter-Final 2 in the ongoing U-19 World Cup 2022. The match will start today at 6:30 pm IST at the Coolidge Cricket Ground, Antigua.

In India, the ICC U-19 World Cup 2022 will get telecasted on Star Sports. It will also live stream on OTT platforms like Disney+Hotstar.

Aaradhya Yadav is 17 years old and was born in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh. He is a right-handed batsman for the Indian U-19 team. Whereas Vasu Vats is a 19-year-old born in Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh, and a Right-arm-medium-fast bowler for the Indian U-19 team.
