Pirates of the Caribbean actor Johnny Depp’s text exchanges with his assistant Nathan Holmes have been witnessed at a recent hearing of Depp’s lawsuit trial. The actor has been fighting the trial against a British news organisation, which published a story revealing that the Hollywood actor used to physically abuse his ex-wife, Amber Heard.
Earlier, his wife, Amber Heard claimed that the actor attacked her when she attempted to stop him from washing down pills with a glass of red wine. Amber has accused the celebrated actor of physically assaulting her on various occasions. She also revealed that the actor’s rage was triggered by using drugs. The couple was married for two years, and broke the news of the split in 2017.
In an interview with Mirror online, Depp’s lawyer said, “the actor’s drug use has nothing to do with the subject of the trial, which is whether or not he attacked his ex-wife.” But the plaintiff’s lawyer claims that the actor’s drug influence was the reason that he held Amber hostage for three days in Australia, during which period he allegedly assaulted her.
After the reports of text messages exchanged between Depp and his assistant, plaintiff’s lawyer Adam Wolanski said that it was very clear that Depp was trying to arrange for ecstasy and cocaine. “We should have more happy pills – can you?” Depp wrote, which the lawyer claims is a reference to ecstasy. Depp texted Holmes to ask “where’s the other one?”, to which his assistant replied, “There was 2g in that jar.” Wolanski said: “That is a reference to grams, grams of coke.” His assistant further told Depp that “the guy only carries two a day because if he’s caught with more than two here it’s 20 years in prison,” and that he will be “getting more in the morning.”
The text conversation also revealed that Depp asked for the happy pills again after three days, the text from Depp read, “May I be ecstatic again?”. Later, on the same day he asked for it again, “need more whitey stuff ASAP.” Preceding text exchanges between him and his assistant discloses growing impatience of the actor. “F*king give me the goddamn numbers, I will take care of this s*t, don’t bother,” Depp texted his assistant.
The legal battle between the two is far from over. With new revelations in every hearing, one can only presume another drama taking up the courtroom soon.
