Mel Gibson has denied Winona Ryder’s accusations that he made homophobic and anti-Semitic comments at her. Alleged accusations of homophobia and anti-Semitism were made on Mel Gibson by American actor Winona Ryder. Gibson has always been in the center controversies.

Gibson has denied the allegations made by the actor, his representative said, “This is 100% untrue. She lied about it over a decade ago, when she talked to the press, and she’s lying about it now.”

The accusations were made by Ryder in a recent interview to Sunday Times. When the interviewer asked the actress about bigotry she has faced in her career, she recalled the story and said, “We were at a crowded party with one of my good friends. And Mel Gibson was smoking a cigar, and we’re all talking and he said to my friend, who’s gay, ‘Oh wait, am I gonna get AIDS?’ And then something came up about Jews, and he said, ‘You’re not an oven dodger, are you?’”

Shredded that later on Gibson tried to apologise to her, but Gibson’s spokesperson also denied this. “She lied about him trying to apologise to her back then,” the representative said. Adding to that the representative also told the media that Gibson tried to reach out to her, many years ago, to confront her about her lies, but she refused to address it with him.

Ryder first mentioned this incident with GQ a decade ago. Meanwhile, Gibson has always been in controversies related to anti-Semitic statements. Back in 2006, during his arrest for a DUI, a police officer recorded him on camera saying, “The Jews are responsible for all the wars in the world!”
