In match 43 of VIVO IPL 2021, Rajasthan Royals were taking on Royal Challengers Bangalore for two crucial points that would have taken them beyond Mumbai Indians and closer to registering a sport in the Top 4. To achieve this goal, they wanted to have a great start on what looked like a pitch where the ball was really coming on to the bat. That’s when Evin Lewis decided to step up to take on the Bangalore bowlers. The former Mumbai Indians’ opener scored his third fifty in IPL.

RCB started off very well. And only gave away 8 runs in the first two overs. Virat Kohli seemed to have missed a trick with tossing the ball to Glenn Maxwell on a pitch that had a great cover of grass. Lewis and Jaiswal accepted the gift with both hands and smoked the Aussie for 13 runs in the over.

After that, there was no going back for Lewis as he then took on Lewis Garton, the debutant, in the next over to score 18 runs from the fourth over. Virat realized his mistake and immediately brought on his best bowler Harshad Patel for some damage control, but Lewis was having a day with the bat and took on Patel to score 13 runs off the over.

In the tenth over, Lewis pulled Harshal Patel to the square leg region to bring up his 3rd Fifty in IPL. It’s because of his explosive batting alongside Jaiswal, Rajasthan Royals accumulated 91 runs in just 10 overs.
