On Tuesday, the Sheffield Shield match between Queensland and Tasmania has been officially postponed due to the outbreak in the number of COVID-19 cases currently in the state of Brisbane. The Tasmanian team decided to fly home back to Hobart after the postponement of the match. They would get more time to spend on their training sessions in the Gold Coast before the season starts. The teams had arrived in Brisbane on the weekend, now only to confirm that the match has been postponed with the perspective to be carried forward later through the entire season.
Cricket Australia has confirmed the news that the match between Tasmania and Queensland has been officially postponed and will be carried later by tweeting, “ The Sheffield Shield clash between Queensland and Tasmania that was scheduled to start at 10 am AEST in Brisbane has been postponed.”

Queensland Cricket as well confirmed the news of the match getting postponed between Tasmania and Queensland due to the surge in COVID-19 cases in Brisbane via tweet, “ Cricket Australia advises that Sheffield Shield match between Queensland and Tasmania at Ian Healy Oval, due to begin today has been postponed.”
