Tottenham Hotspur has officially signed the 22-year-old full-back Emerson Royal from Barcelona on a permanent deal. Spurs will pay a staggering amount of €25 million transfer fee, with a five-year deal with the North London club. Real Betis will also receive around 20% of the money from Spurs for this transfer.
FC Barcelona exercised their €9 million option to buy in separately or make it permanent for two years on loan from Real Betis. The former Brazilian also made just three appearances under Ronald Koeman’s side including the first and only game against Getafe which was currently played on Sunday. Barca wished the former right-back all the best for his future and his career by saying “ Agreement with Tottenham for the transfer of Emerson Royal”.

On the other side, the North London club was very happy upon the arrival of Emerson Royal from Barcelona as he proves to put more impact on the Spurs defence and affect the overall game. Emerson Royal could be one of the best young fullbacks the fans would ever see.
The right-back had arrived at Barcelona this summer after playing for Real Betis. This season Emerson Royal only appeared thrice for Barcelona under Ronald Koeman’s men. The former Brazilian also represented his country in this year’s Copa America, 2021.
